Worthing & District Community First Responders
999 Responders
We respond to 999 emergencies where we live and work, often arriving before ambulance crews. We carry life saving equipment to help in the vital first minutes of an emergency
Part of the ambulance trust
We are part of the South East Coast Ambulance Service and are always backed up by a SECAmb crew when we attend an incident. The crew will continue care and convey.
AED Champions
We are strong advocates for community knowledge of CPR and using AEDs. We offer familiarisation sessions to clubs and organisations, as well as demonstrations at events we attend
Volunteer responders
Our responders are all volunteers who attend training and spend time on call “for the love”. We have a minimum commitment of 1 team meeting per month and 20 hours of responding per month.
Community Falls Team
Our team is also the community falls team for our area. We have the training and equipment capabilities to be dispatched to non injury falls, taking a patient from the floor and giving an assessment without the need for ambulance backup. This helps keep vulnerable people out of hospital, and save an ambulance for other capabilities.
